I was in York on Monday and whilst waiting for our train home (16.56) I saw a MML set pull in from the North. Would this be the return Edinburgh to BNS ?
I was somewhat pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately I didn't get a shot - it was immaculate !

| Great Shot of 86101 on shed - the only thing is that I can't read the nameplate - however, that could be the fault of the reception on my computer. I still haven't gone digital yet as I still can't find anything that comes anywhere near the pin-sharp resolution of my colour transparencies - but there again, the technology is advancing all the time - anyway, it's nice of you to make the effort to capture this image and then make it available for others to enjoy. |

| Lovely shot of the Duchess there Mick - I took a slide of it at Welham Green but I will have to wait to get them back before seeing how it came out. Whilst at Welham Green I photted NEEC liveried 91011 passing northbound at 11:42 hrs and got a friendly toot from the driver - for a minute I thought it might be you giving someone a cab-ride, but obviously not because you were at Langford to phot 1Z62 - I then went on to Ayres End (near Harpenden) on the Midland Main Line to get shots of some East Midland Meridian (Class 222) sets as well as Tugs 60096 on 6E38 and 60059 on 6M34 which appeared within ten minutes of each other - Steve was feeding me info every 15 mins. It's roast chicken with paxo stuffing, roast potatoes etc, for dinner today - by the way, there's an outside possibility that I might be able to make a single-day visit to the Glos-Warks diesel gala, so I'll keep you posted on that - all the best - and keep on with the great photos - cheers, Bernie |

The walking time from the Station is around 30 minutes.

| This is definitely the headshunt at the west loco yard at Kings Cross. St Pancras roof is in the right background and the suburban station wall (with what is now platform 11 just behind it). By the fence to the left is line rising up from the Hotel Curve from Moorgate. The white line behind it is the edge of the island platform that existed outside the suburban station - platforms 14 and 15 for most of their lives. The sidings behind the loco to the right are the various docks used for parcels and motorail |
